I wish I could have kept every one of these, and maybe I should have. Practicality and a desire for Zen simplicity have been my motivating factors in selling them. Plus, selling one often provided cash for the next.
My plan is to post something on every piece of gear I've owned here on GEARCHILD. I got into this stuff about 1980 so I've had a fair share over 30 years time.
My first actual synthesizer was a weird one, the Paia Gnome. The company sold kits that consisted of baggies of transistors, resistors, knobs, pots and wires that you soldered together. In the end you hoped it would work. Not exactly Minimoogs, but by the time the thing finally bleeped and growled, I'd caught the bug. Paia is still in business, by the way.
Here's a list of posts so far on synths and samplers (basically anything that generated sounds). Maybe later we'll see posts on virtual synths. I'm just not sure they qualify as "gear." Drum machines are not listed either. There's another place for that.
